Lyrics

Confidence is a preference for the habitual voyeur of what is known as (parklife)
And morning soup can be avoided if you take a route straight through what is known as
(parklife)
John's got brewers droop he gets intimidated by the dirty pigeons
They love a bit of it (parklife)
Who's that gut lord marching... you should cut down on your porklife mate... get some
Exercise

[Chorus]
ALL THE PEOPLE
SO MANY PEOPLE
THEY ALL GO HAND IN HAND
HAND IN HAND THROUGH THEIR PARKLIFE

Being one of the first bands to start of the "britpop" movement back in the early ninety's, just after the grunge revolution had taken its toll. Blur were growing larger by the second.
When Parklife was released in august 1994, the single went sailing straight to the top of the british charts.
Phil Daniels delivers a tramendous flavour to the song, with his loud cockney accent expressing lines such as "who's that gut lord marching... you should cut down on your pork life mate... get some exercise". Then comes in damon singing the well acclaimed chorus " all the people..."
Parklife, as its album with the same title, were sure to become new british anthems for the ninety's. With a fantastic front man, who needless to say brings any gig to life, and a energetic band with members such as Graham Coxon on lead guitar, Alex James on bass and Dave rowntree playing drums. Which beyond any doubt constructed the back bone for blur. along with the sounds of plastic keyboards and blaring saxaphones, which had been influenced by bands like Madness and The Kinks. There was no doubt about it, that Blur would be more than successful. For any British music fan, its positivly accurate that with bands like Blur on the scene, we are all undoubtedly proud to be British. Jo Budd 04
