Synopsis

Toni Basil performs a tense, theatrical breakup fantasy that shifts between surreal studio spaces and stylized domestic scenes. Against changing blue skies and deep black backgrounds, she moves through anger, frustration, and emotional exhaustion, attacking bedroom objects and revisiting images of a troubled relationship. Her choreography grows increasingly dramatic as the song builds. The video closes on an animated house, where Basil continues singing from a window before finally collapsing, giving the performance a deliberately melodramatic and dreamlike conclusion.
