The video was amazing. It was crying out to the people telling that its not to late to change the past. If people would listen more to Michael's song the world could become a better.

Earth-Song reduces everyone in my family to tears. It has a powerful message which is so true. Yes ok so Michael shoes himself as saving the world but he is trying to convey a simple message, if you care enough, you can change the world. This video shows the things that we've done to seriously f**k this world up and Michael tries to show us how to undo everything that we've done. It's a flaiming masterpiece.

I'm only 13 and have grown up around being fed the crap about Jackson being some kind of freak, and until recently I belived it. But 3 days ago I saw his number ones dvd and the song and clip to "Earth song" moved me to tears. I can't accept that a man who could write such powerful lyrics and creat such a film clip could be guilty of his accused child molestation charges and I now have no doubts to his innocents. Its one of the most amazing peices of music I have ever seen and heard and think that no matter his appearence he is truly an fantastic performer and the song mearly confirms that. I wish all those who have not yet seen it, would, then I would hope they too would be moved as i was to as it is something truly worthy of history's recortding.

I agree with Daniel. Michael is telling us that we can change the world if we care enough. The video is ver powerful, it always reduces me to tears when i watch it.

I also have to agree with Daniel on this one. Both the song and the video are messages to all who hear/see them:'we are in the process of destroying our world but we can save it and those whose way of life are being destroyed with it'. This song and its message should be heeded by all. A song by chris de burgh also gives this message, its called 'just in time'

Yeah, I have to agree with Daniel on this one. your not suppost to take this Video clip litrally. Try to look at it more broardly. He was never really on a spaceship either but that didnt stop Scream from being a masterpeice.

Miss Rori clearly failed to pick up the point of this short film - it shows that if we care enough, we CAN change the world.

That is why there were people from the world over who dug into the earth expressing their anger and sadness... It was the expression that helped to reverse the Earths bad state. That is what Michael tried to put accross - if we all believe in something enough to act, then it will happen.

I guess some people overlook that though... I would've thought it was a clear and concise message though. Apparently not to some people.

Another "We Are the World" style message song from Jackson, this time with an environmental bent. The visuals present rainforests destroyed by loggers, majestic animals that were killed by poachers, a North American forest burnt to stumps, the devestation of war in Bosnia (IIRC). Michael and all the suffering native peoples cry and dig into the dirt, which somehow triggers the world to twirl back in time to its lovely former state.

That ending is pretty much a cop-out; is Jackson trying to tell us that we need help from Superman to restore our polluted, war-torn world? As for the rest of the video, knowing that actual native folks and overseas shoots were used gives the whole thing an exploitive feel, and its take on geopolitics is strictly "Captain Planet"-level. As with far too many of Jackson's videos, it's well-meaning but artistically lame (the song itself being no great shakes).
