It sounds like you might be talking about a tune from Italy in 1966, which is known by both the titles "Ta Ra Ta Ta" and "Blue Smoke." There's a 30 second clip of it on this web page:

Also, there's a movie called "Ginger and Cinnamon" which plays every so often on IFC and on the Sundance Channel. This same song is played in a scene near the end in which the hero and heroine are dancing around on a bus.
