His numerous music videos make extensive use of video effects and the so called new narrative style of music videos. His most popular works are for the Rolling Stones: 'She Was Hot', 'Undercover' and 'Out of Luck'. And for David Bowie 'Jazzing For Blue Jeans'. He also makes Movies (1986 'Absolute Beginners'). Julienīs work is compareble with the works of directors like David Byrne, Jonathan Demme and Laurie Anderson. All of them try to express the New Wave Musicals and the spirit of that time.
