XBOX Halo3 "Believe" Action-Figures Commercial

Do you know action film trailers, mostly on TV, where all the action, due to legal/age restrictions, is reduced to stills and sound effects from the movie?

This is what this 60 seconds ad feels like. For a first person shooter video game, one would expect another clip full of whammy sequences, blood, gore and ingame footage. - This is why this spot is so great. It's nothing of the above. In fact its like a diorama, a snapshot from a big warfield, all arranged with action-figures.

Finding film like perspectives, the camera flys through the scenario, picking out single scenes of remarkable intensity. Everything is frozen in time. Culminating in a shot of a large enemy.

The idea for the commercial was developed by Agency
T.A.G./ McCann Worldgroup with Creative Directors Geoff Edwards, John Patroulis and Scott Duchon. Art Directors were Nate Able and Tim Stier. Agency Producer Hannah Murray and Copywriter Matt Bunnell.

Actual production on the film side was carried out by Production Company MJZ with Lisa Rich as Executive Producer and Producer Laurie Boccaccio. The commercial was directed by Rupert Sanders with Director of Photography Chris Soos. Production Design/Art Direction by James Chinlund and Animatronics/Puppeteering from industry heavyweight Stan Winston.

Editorial Company on this piece was Rock Paper Scissors's Editor Andrea Macarthur. Telecine Company Company 3 with Colorist
Sean Coleman. Audio Post was done at Lime by Audio Mixer Loren Silber.
