McConaughey, Snyder, Portman and Eastwood

Matthew McConaughey, dares to sign-up for "The Gost Of Girlfriends Past", a project previously shelfed by Disney. The past candidate to play the part was Ben Affleck (who seems to have few luck these days). He was kicked when the J.Lo/Bennifer-affair (follow the affair here, here and here) made him unwelcome on the Mickey-Mouse lot. McConaughey is now also in the row for playing in the action-comedy "The Gackle".

Zack Snyder, the long time commercials director (credits) is the next one who receives the arguable pleasure of directing "Watchmen". The cult-comic by Alan Mooren has now a history of two passed directors (Terry Gilliam and Darren Aronowsky) and three studios... We will see if the imdb page will ever show the "Status: Filming" tab. So far Snyder made his calling-card with the Alan Moore adaptation for "300".

Natalie Portman, is currently filming with ex-Hulk Eric Bana for the new Justin Chadwick drama "The Other Boleyn Girl" scheduled for a release in 2007. After playing the part of Evey Hammond in "V for Vendetta" (2005) and Princess Amidala in the Star Wars prequels, the sexy star of "Leon"-fame is now portraying the character of Anne Boleyn, the wife of Henry VIII. (at THR, more)

Alison Eastwood, managed to get the directing job on "Rails and Ties, a dark family-drama revolving around a dead mother and her son. The 34-year-old is producing her directorial-debut at her father's, Clint Eastwood, production company called Malpaso Pictures. Warner Brothers will release the feature in fall 2007 under the Warner Independent banner. (more)
